Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our services, care approach, and how to get started.
What makes our clinic unique?
- Patients don’t have to juggle multiple providers — they can address mental
health, primary care, and wellness goals under one roof. - We actively collaborate with local therapists, treatment centers, and community
organizations to ensure patients get wraparound support, not just isolated
care. - We emphasize continuity of care, relationship building, and accessibility.
- Every patient interaction is designed to feel supportive, respectful, and thorough.
Do you see children?
No. Our clinic currently sees adults (18+) only.
What services do you offer?
- Psychiatry (medication management, mental health treatment)
- Primary Care (routine and preventative care, chronic condition management)
- Weight Management/Wellness Specialized Evaluations: FAA medical exams (PLEASE NOTE: This does
NOT include HIMS evaluations), VA disability DBQs, Independent
Medical Exams, Fit-for-Duty exams, and Expert Witness testimon
What happens if I need urgent support outside of regular business hours?
If you are experiencing a crisis, we encourage you to seek support by proceeding to a
nearby ER or urgent care center. You can also reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis lifeline
by calling, sending a text message to ‘988,’ or chatting online at https://988lifeline.org/
Does Dr. Uddin prescribe controlled substances?
Yes, Dr. Uddin can prescribe controlled substances when found medically appropriate.
However, controlled medications require close monitoring and follow-up. We do not
guarantee continuation of medications from a previous provider until Dr. Uddin has
completed your evaluation.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and cash. Payment is due at the
time of service.
Do you offer telehealth?
How do I schedule an appointment?
All scheduling is handled online. We do not schedule over the phone. If you are having
issues, please reach out via phone or email for assistance.
Do you take insurance?
We are a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance. We do not accept any federal (Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare) or commercial insurance. This means:
- No limitations on visit length or frequency are dictated by insurance.
- Full privacy of your medical records from insurance databases.
- Transparent, upfront pricing.
Patients may use HSA/FSA funds
How long are appointments?
Appointments are designed to be thorough and personalized, typically longer than at
insurance-based practices. New patient visits are usually 60 minutes, and follow-ups are 30
minutes
Do you do psychotherapy?
What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?
Can I still see my therapist?
Can I be treated for both mental and physical health concerns at the same visit?
Yes! One of our biggest advantages is that Dr. Uddin can address psychiatric needs (such as depression, ADHD, or anxiety) and medical needs (such as blood pressure, thyroid, or diabetes management) in the same appointment.
What if I need lab work or imaging?
What is your philosophy on medication? Does every patient need drugs to get well?
We are not “pill pushers”. You have the autonomy to make changes as you wish, should it be warranted. We take a balanced, personalized approach and often combine medications (when appropriate) with therapy, lifestyle changes, and education based on your preferences and needs
How do prescription refills work?
Refill requests should be submitted through your pharmacy. We suggest not using the automated phone systems/ apps, as they are often wrong. Please call the pharmacy and request to speak directly with a human.
Please allow 2–3 business days for processing. We do not process urgent same-day refill requests for controlled medications.
Can you coordinate care with my other providers?
What is your cancellation/no-show policy?
Because we reserve time exclusively for you, we require 24 hours’ notice for
cancellations. No-show appointments or late cancellations will result in a charge half
the cost of the appointment type.
Do I need a referral to be seen by Dr. Uddin?
You may be referred by a provider, but a referral is not required.
Where is your office located?
Our office is located in Kansas City, and we proudly serve patients across Kansas and Missouri.
